The ACTIVE (Atlantic Caucasus Technical universities Initiative for Valuable Education) project can be considered as an element of common Europe vision, especially in view of introducing former Soviet Union countries. The project aims mainly at launching a research and education network comprising HEIs from the European Union, Belarus, Moldova, Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Armenia. ACTIVE project was selected under Erasmus Mundus Action II, which manages a scholarship programme funded by the European Commission. The ACTIVE  programme is focused on engineering and technology fields of study. The programme objective is to promote and transfer the exchange of persons, knowledge and skills at higher education level.

The ACTIVE  programme offer student and staff scholarships to nationals of European Union, Belarus, Moldova, Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Armenia. The project provides mobility scholarships for students and staff of Belarus, Moldova, Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Armenia to European Union partner universities and from European Union to partner universities from Belarus, Moldova, Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Ukraine. The mobility can be realised in 20 partner universities in EU and third countries- over the whole Europe, from Atlantic Ocean (Dublin) to the Black Sea (Sevastopol) and Caucasus. There will be available above 200 scholarships to be awarded for 1-36 months depending on mobility type/academic level. The selection process, for the first cohort, will start February 2014.
